The Shape of Her

The Shape of Her is an ongoing film-based portrait series about the moment of standing on the threshold of womanhood. I photograph women in my life as they move through turning points: the quiet shifts between girlhood and adulthood, the blur of new love, the weight of caregiving, the decision to choose self. Through a mix of staged and natural scenes, I trace the subtle ways bodies, gestures, and intimacies change when you sense that life is about to tilt.

The work lives in the “in-between”: after the first rupture, before the next version of yourself arrives. Instead of grand, heroic narratives, I focus on small, intimate revolutions — a glance held longer than before, a shared laugh that releases an old story, a mother resting without apology. The Shape of Her asks what it looks like to be on the cusp of becoming, again and again, and how women carve space for tenderness, freedom, and self-definition in that uncertain, electric edge.
